2020, 815 x 805 x 795 mm, painted MDF, spray paint, steel parts, marker, lacquer, steel | ink, watercolor on rough-cut A3 paper and ink, watercolor on postcard-size paper
Originally the bigger version of BOB. ELLE was once bright pink, and, due to life’s circumstances, made a last-minute change to a more fitting black. In this piece, the artist’s life on wheels is directly translated as it suddenly switches gears and turns right.
ELLE was taken apart completely when transforming and remade so that her limbs and top can be stacked in a box separately, to be saved for later.
ELLE’s underside is layered with steel plates instead of regular felt pads to demand a certain approach in the use of the object. It should not be pushed or shoved but instead be lifted with care, as to not scrape one’s floor.
INCLUDES: TABLE (FOUR PARTS), CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY, ORIGINAL STORYBOARD, POSTCARD ILLUSTRATION
